Do Not Disturb

Use Do not disturb mode to reject calls, and silence audible alerts and notifications, but still keep a data connection available.

  1. With two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.
  2. Tap Do not disturb do not disturb off icon. If necessary, swipe to the next screen.
  3. Tap Total silence, Alarms only, or Priority only depending on if you want to allow exceptions. When Priority only is selected, you can receive messages or calls from contacts in your exceptions list.
  4. Tap Until you turn this off if you want to turn off Do not disturb by yourself or tap add icon or minus icon to set the number of hours before Do not disturb turns off automatically.
  5. Tap Done to activate it.
  • The Do not disturb icon do not disturb on icon will appear in the status bar.
  1. You can also tap More settings and then select Auto decline incoming calls to decline incoming calls and have them sent to voicemail.

Tips:

  • When the screen is on, press the Volume button and then tap End now to turn off Do not disturb mode quickly.
  • When you press the Volume down button until you reach silence mode, Do not disturb Alarms only mode is activated.

Note: When Do not disturb is on, the notification LED will not flash.

Block Visual Disturbance

You can set Do not disturb mode to block visual disturbances such as pop up notifications.

  1. Tap home key > all apps icon > settings app icon Settings.
  2. Tap Sound & notification.
  3. Tap Do not disturb > Block visual disturbances.
  4. Tap the On/Off switches to choose whether to block visual disturbances when the screen is on and off.

Allow Notifications and Contacts to Bypass Do Not Disturb Mode

Add important contacts to an exceptions list so you can still receive their calls and messages even when Do not disturb mode is on.

  1. Tap home key > all apps icon > settings app icon Settings.
  2. Tap Sound & notification > Do not disturb.
  3. Tap Priority only allows.
  4. Tap the On/Off switch next to the items you wish to allow.
  5. Tap Messages from or Calls from to select who can contact you.
  6. Tap Manage approved contacts, and then tap add icon to add contacts to your exceptions list.
  7. To remove contacts or numbers from the list, tap options icon > Remove contacts.

Set a Do Not Disturb Schedule

Schedule Do not disturb to turn on automatically and how long will it last. For example, you can set it to turn on during a weekly meeting.

  1. Tap home key > all apps icon > settings app icon Settings.
  2. Tap Sound & notification.
  3. Tap Do not disturb > Automatic rules.
  4. Tap add icon Add rule.
  5. Select whether to base the rule on a time or an event, enter a name for the rule, and then tap OK.
  6. Set the rule's parameters.
  • For Time rule:
  • Set the days.
  • Set the start and end times.
  • Select a Do not disturb level.
  • Choose whether to allow the rule to stop at either the rule end time or by the next alarm you've set in the Clock app.
  • For Event rule:
  • Select a calendar you want to make the rule for.
  • Set a condition for the type of reply.
  • Select a Do not disturb level.

Note: You can turn an automatic rule on or off by tapping the On/Off switch when viewing the details of the rule.
